July is the month for the youths indeed!

Emerge 2011 is here! :) after watching all the showcases of the talents that the youths in CHC has, i'm truly inspired and i pray that my mbrs will also be impacted to use their God-given talents to do something great for the glory of God.

Just a random thought.. have u ever wondered if there is any events for the adults? elderly? middle-aged? kids? the answer is not really. but there is EMERGE to really rise up the youths in our church, to carry the passion and fire within them. We should really cherish this period of our life, it is literally like the golden years. "the glory of the youth is their strength" this verse is really into my mind for the past week, youths have more strength than any other age groups and we need to be mindful of that in a sense that, 12-25 yr old is peak! i'm alrdy 21 this yr, thank God for that but i only have 4 more years to go before i am not a youth.. considering members who are 15 yr old, they have a decade more to go after us! truly we need to pass on the baton to them to continue running in e marathon.

God is looking for a 2nd Moses, some one who is uber hungry and desperate for His glory, for His presence. Who is the chosen one?

both ytd and today was such a blessing because of the ministry time, i really believe that God did a work in my life and the first svc, i felt such a tangible heat burning in my face when wayne prayed for me, seems like fire of God came down from above and burnt on my face and body. i was crying.
Today, i went for service for a double portion of anointing, i was eager and hungry for God's touch, i went down for the altarcall and Nic prayed for the fire again, i was already on the floor crying, but i felt it was not enough, i wasnt satisfied, i went to get prayed again, i told God," Lord no matter who laid hands for me, i'll receive and i want to draw everything the pst or zs have inside of them to come upon my life.." Little did i noticed, PK prayed for me and words cant explain how i felt at the moment, i was weeping... literally crying super desperately, i cant control, just dont know what happened, "power of God", "just receive"... i was on the ground crying yet again, deep down in my heart, i really want to do something for the glory of God, i was like yearning for something,......breakthru perhaps.

after all the testimonies shared by various young people in Emerge, i was super super impacted, God is alive, He changes lives! He transforms lives! "God turned my life from a mess into a message" Praise the Lord, I was electrified.

Thank God i am still alive and i can still serve God in His house, I pray that i will make a difference in the different lives of my cg members and enlarge both my and their visions and dreams to see the cg revive, from dry dead bones to alive and kicking on fire bones for God. I believe that God is able to do it, i believe that cg members are able to do it as well!

I will learn to lean on God again and again in every situation literally everything i do, i want to be grounded and deeply rooted in the word of God again and praying fervently again! <3

Tears.

St John Island, likened to the wilderness, is where we held our bi-annual youth camp once again. Memories of the past camp swept past my mind as I step foot on the pier. I was then a team leader but this time i went to camp playing a total different role, or rather, many roles. :)

Many of us went in to SJI nearing 10am, was there to set up the logistics and games for the first afternoon- Chariots of Fire. The start of the camp! everyone came in ferry after ferry with their bags and lugguages, cheering for each other. There, we started our camp game! :D We briefed the people and we sounded off the whistle, boom, goes everyone. Chloe and I were running around the whole island to the different stations and we saw the people playing together as a tribe, together as one, we showed the station masters the different way in leading games and 2 hours was up. We concluded the game and there we prepared for the session.

Meanwhile, turning the focus to the basketball court, the media and service crew were busy preparing their euqipments, setting up the stage, piecing all the wood together, the sound, the lightings, the fans, the chairs etc. Muzos and Singers were rehearsing their praise and worship, the songs, and soundchecking the mics. Everyone was working.

Finally night came, we were so excited for a move of God. For the first time we had session in the open air, in the basketball court of SJI! From the flash mob dance, to the praise and worship to the testimonies, to the word. The presence of God was so strong and moved me deeply. Pastor laid hands for everyone and we were so hungry for God to move in our lives, we all wanted His anointing so badly, so desperately. Bam! Fell under the power, cried, and caught the holy ghost laughter. We were all sooooooooooooooooooo HIGH! it was literally like a CLUB! but a holy Club, the best club ever! ended off with sucha high note but we know the next day is gonna be even bigger and better!

Games comm were still packing the logistics for day 2 games in the mid of night 1am and still working.. :)

saw pastor and had a good quality time spent with him talking..Thank u pastor for all the time counselling me and encouraging me, always picking me up when i fall. Thank God that He has placed me in MJ zone and no where else!

Morning the people had morning exercise and area cleaning, we were super tired and some of us were already burnt and tanned, but yet the atmosphere and spirits were high. We had a truly good time with Darryl and she shared about success and how we are never failures even if we may fail. I was truly blessed by the session and felt good on the inside of me. the confidence.

Day 2 game was named Ninja Warrior! as it seems, it is full of water games, soap, sand, mud, flour what not!! Chloe and I sounded off the siren and everyone was off to the different stations to compete against tribes and with whatever that is in everyone of them! I was leading in one of the station called fear not! and i witnessed how the people really cheered and played the game and got wet and dirty...Amazing!Then, there was a round up game, with all the houses playing against each other.. pastor even joined us together for a great time fo fun and excitement!!!!! We broke the ice of everyone and now they were super high!

Sun set, a team of us prepared the glam dinner for everyone, decorated the place with candles, ate western food, most amazing thing is I really felt good serving the people! Set your attention to the basketball court, whispers and hype, shouts..Pastor Kong and his team, Anabel, Pastor Jeremy, Jiahao,Raven was here at SJI!!!!! we all really cheered for him and welcomed the man of God!

Everyone was gathered and seated at the basketball court, wearing our bright camp tees and service started with the most eye-turning video! Awesome is the word! Praise and Worship started, dancers, muzos..300 youths praising God in the open air.The testimony of Eric and Yanping blew us away, truly God changes lives and transform the inner us! Pastor Kong went up and shared a short word coupled with his life stories and then, it was ministry time. The moment i stepped forward, when pst prayed for me, I couldn't get up. I was wailing, I was screaming!!!!! It was electrifying time, I got prayed for and felt a wave of deliverance and freedom. Sudden joy n happiness felt my heart, like what pastor mj told me, God did a spiritual operation on me.there and then, i felt so good. Never had i experienced this feeling before in my life, was my first time. I told myself, never will I forget this experience, this encounter with God. I saw the hunger in all of our members as they rushed to the front to receive touch from God and the desperation in our hearts that we really want the anointing in our lives, many were set free and experience the love of God and the power of God. All of us were crying, all of us had a visit from God. Amazing. By faith, we received something within our spirits.

Atmosphere was the purest! the desperation and hunger. Priceless.

Thank God for the mighty move!

We couldn't believe it that we are breaking camp so soon! Seems like we didnt had enough..gave many prizes to the different tribes and houses and affirm the different groups of people who have made the camp a success and possible. Soon after, we were all on the ferry and bidding goodbye to SJI!

Although we left SJI with unwillingness, but the greatest thing is God left something within our spirits and this we will bring back to our campuses and marketplace, making a difference! Thank You Jesus!

Best camp ever yet for MJ zone! family is what we are. thank you to all leaders and crew whom had worked so hard, all the sleepless nights were so worthed it! :) <3

NTU's exam results just out! hot from the oven! :D what can i say, except to thank God for wisdom and understanding :) improvements!!!!
most important thing is improvement! :D yep at least u're progressing! keep walking and move on! :)

yeps! 3M contacted me to start my internship earlier! GO GO GO! haha. quite fearful now.. but pray that it is gonna be good! :) 3M ftw!

sigh! super wishful now! how?!! haha. can i say boldly to mum n dad that i want a DSLR? or a good camera?? :/ LOL picture speaks a thousand words! *random*

anyway, had a good quality time fellowshipping with xb n kuek kuek! :) was awesome to hear their life stories! haa! imagined if im God, i'll be laughing my head off, so mean! but thank God that He is God, and His grace and mercies over our lives! Precious! Countless!

how many true friends do u have?

Friends arent something we can change easily. the times when u spent with each other are truly precious! no matter is it 5mins talk on the phone, 1 hr dinner or 3hours of outing or even years in the same school or class!

Do cherish the friends around u.. :) Thank God for friends, thank God for them when u have difficulties, u can just be so open and share. Thank God for all of my friends. :)

ytd night i watched the in-laws final episode on xin msn, the one thing that touches me the most is that when they realised it isnt qiu hua's fault to push chawanmushi down the stairs, the husband went to their condo and found a note which qh left. it said,
"Dear, 我走了，我什么都不要，再见."
it takes a woman of super great courage to write that and forget the past and her marriage. true, in life humans all make mistakes, big or small, but all we need is that someone close to us will believe and have enough trust in us that they will be willingly to give a 2nd, 3rd chance.
.

immediately, the husband cried and i cried! (Tidus said women are so weak, cry so easily) super touching scene and meaningful words. i find the beauty of chinese words is that, they are so close to our hearts. Chinese is a beautiful language! :) but it seems like the trend for love of chinese is fading and going to be extinct really soon.

sigh! what a show!

recently been really stretched with the planning of our zone events and the camp stuff! believe that God is stretching all the youth leaders, the newer and younger generation of ldrs that will run on with the baton! with the best team of ldrs + most excited mbrs in MJ zone, our camp is definitely gonna be an awesome camp! reflecting back the past one year, sometimes i really miss those whom have left church or cell group...

throughout the year, i've counted lost.. i lost many of my sheep, sorry God for being unfaithful servant, is my fault that i did not take good care of them that i was not sharp enough notice their worries and needs. I truly miss the moments and times when i had spent with them, though i didnt say it out, but i miss you guys.. ur laughters, nonsense and FUN! every moment spent was so totally worth it! I thank God for u guys every day, i thank God for new faces and friends whom have joined us and stayed, and i pray for more to come, but it would be great and awesome if u guys are still around in church or cell.. Nothing beats seeing ur own fruits and labour bearing fruits and having roots deep in church n God. I pray that u all are doing well and u must not forget that u were here once...

God still loves u no matter what wrongs u have done or even if u dont love Him back.... just like the prodigal son, the daddy misses his kid when he's out, when he's alone, no matter how naughty and wild he is.. we're still his kid. likewise to God. If u are lost, turn back and run to daddy. He will protect u and love u still.

sighs..sometimes i would qn myself if FB is a good invention.. yes FB can help u to stalk ur friends, see their photos, but at times whenever i see their post or updates, i feel alot.

I wonder why humans are so desperate for love.. :( Love is definitely not a bad thing, but when one gets desperate for attn, it is bad. sigh, is acceptance from men really that impt? maybe we should see it deeper.. yes if this person doesnt like me, so what, i am apple of God's eyes, i know that God loves me, this is more than enough. but yet, there are so many youths and young ppl nowadays that are reaally worrying me.. besides studying, it seems like their whole life is abt finding a guy or girl to be their bf of gf, jus to make themselves look and feel good. :X I am not saying whoever, but as a general trend.. this is disgusting and really reflecting bad on oneself. instead of doing what's right, it seems like they're doing all the wrongs.. then again, what is right?

maybe it is our own convictions that define us. Conviction-a fixed or firm belief.
Maybe some of us youngsters, our convictions are not strong enough, and for some of us, we dont even have one..what is your conviction? what are the beliefs that you have that defines or shapes you? Are your convictions right? Are your convictions biblical?

the bible says " how can 2 walk together unless they are in agreement?" the bible also says " do not be unequally yoked".. I am just worrying that even they know these verses, but yet they still do not obey. I'll really be disappointed and sad... I felt that there is a need to breakthrough all the rship stuff and thinking.. do not waste your youth when you are yet young! " The glory of the youths is in their strength!" Rather than stepping into another commitment of getting into wrong rships one after another, why not just get into 1 right rship with God and do your best to help transform lives and by winning souls to Christ???

ARGHH! i am so angry yet i must control and not rave and rant, it seriously take people to really humble themselves by obeying the word of God,

when it says be angry but do not sin, it is really growing your fruit of self-control. how can one be angry and not sin???? when one is angry, they do crazy things that is unimaginable.
when the bible says, love your enemies and pray for them, how can u? the word enemies literally means ppl that u hate or those that hate u, how can u love them still and even pray for them? See, truly is humbling.
when the bible says do not be unequally yoked, do u do the same? or the opposite?

i learnt from SOT that we do not love God as much as we love His word and we do not love his word as much as we love God.. this means that we need to love His word as much as we love God. we always say, God i love u, but what does it mean to love God wholeheartedly? it is also saying that love the Bible wholeheartedly!!!! The bible is not just a storybook where you read as and when u're free, but it is a word that will transform your life if u truly obey and study it.

Do u think that ur life is in a big mess? does it need some shaping? Well, my answer to it is to read the bible and obey it!

Greatest Day in History- when we all read the bible like how we read the face book. LOL. i believe that youths of this generation shall be different in one way that we will be DO-ers of the Word of God and not just hear-ers.

notice, hearing is the 1st step- faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God, 2nd is doing- faith without action is dead faith. Cmon! transform our society and world! :D

came across one of friend's blog and i was shocked by what i see.. more than that, it is worry and concerned that fillled my heart. lost. love covers a multitude of sins.. yes but dont we all have a love tank and love bank, that it may run dry or on the minus? sigh. i have a feeling in my heart and i cannot explain..that feeling is probably mixed up feeling of frustration, depression and etc.. :'(

i will express it to God someday and i believe He will deliver.. AHHHHHHHHH just feeling hurt? i dunno. first time i have this feeling. GOD help!

sometimes i feel FB is good caz we can get to know and add so many friends, knowing about their statuses and feel how they felt.. sometimes i felt FB is a disaster caz once someone posted something in their status, they are posting to all their friends and everyone sees and comments.. haaiz!

went for guitar class today, its the first lesson of Workshop with Poh! XD unbelievable! ahha he taught us to use our ears to be more sensitive to music! as a musician, i got to be able to hear the different parts of a song, previously i was only focussing on the drums, now got to change to guitar part! lol! :) interesting hearing test and awesome song learnt. praise God for providing me finances to go for the class! i'm lovin' it! :)

i also want to thank God for tuition assignment! gonna teach a sec 2 kid english and math @ woodlands! :) woohoo! i love to give tuition!!

this morning, Tidus woke up late and he didnt attend school. wanted to teach him a lesson, not allowing him to use computer, not talking to him the whole day.. see if it got any effects on him..

have been reading up a lot of fashion magazines and books I went to the library and loaned it all. from Cleo to Her World to Elle to fashion books like WHO WHAT WEAR and even went on sites like forever21.com to look and browse for the fashion trends and stuff, seriously i need a WARDROBE REVENT!!!

Thank God that He is a colourful and bright, vivacious God! Thank God for placing all the creative juices inside of human beings, where all the Fashionistas and celebs wear all those beautiful and glamourous and gorgeous dresses, makeups, shoes and accessories! ahahha I am so impacted and influenced that I seriously need to learn how to dress myself better for the different occasions and especially back to school wear! :)

well, i'm out of job now, just ended a temporary 3-days-but-supposed-to-be-1-week job! ahhaha :) PSB technologies as an operator! :) simple but yet interesting job! :) now hopefully i can go to Chloe's tuition centre to teach the kids! $30/hr! woots! tuition is the BESTTT! AWESOME!

well, need to be prepared for CGM tmr! after 2 weeks of break and finally there's CGM!!! LOVE it caz I believe God will show up in our meeting just like Tues Leader's Meet!!!! Just love the Presence of God! ;)

wooohoooooooooooooo! long shoutout caz i survived a 7 days camp with less than 4 hrs of sleep everyday!!!! :)

25th July marks the first day of the pre-camp of UOC 2010! Initially I packed my bag with a heart of attending as a fake freshie, but the GL said there are too many freshies, i was then told to attend as a fake senior! ahhaa.

hearts were so excited and I arrived at the meeting point at pasir ris bus interchange at 12 noon and the rest of the A group arrived soon after..felt lost caz kelly hasnt arrived. our group was called AVENGE! XD saw all the freshies attending the camp and we played like thousands of ice-breakers games to really memorise and get the face to the names. ahahaha. was funny especially the "xi nu nai" game!! checked in at aloha loyang cranwell bungalow and watched the juniors paint the A group flag! and throughout the whole night we were taught the UOC 2010 mass dance! woo i love mass dance although i'm not a dancer! so we slept through the night at the living room!

Day 1 came and we played some station games at NTU and the initiation night was great fun tekan-ing the juniors as the were blind-folded and had a night walk in the school compound!! seriously i missed the slide at the SBS thr. argh.

Day 2 came and we moved to the place called Camp Christine, i think the exact place is Jalan Bahtera. It was superrrr ulu ttm! We had field games from morning to afternoon playing against the other 7 groups, with water, soap, mud and what not?? chicken and fish for captains ball!! Some of the girls in our group felt unwell and I subbed them and played the games with the freshies! was sooo fun!

evening was the coolest, the og went for og dinner at marina square but i went home and took something and dressed up for the night activities, was held at Butter Factory.. Support our A group's pageant and manhunt totally! jiayou! danced around the dance floor until near 1am and one of our teammates got so high due to the drinking!! ahha.. was super new experience for many of us i think :)

Day 3 was getting better, we went to sentosa for beach games the whole morning till late afternoon, was during the candlefight at night that the sky started raining..so we didnt complete the whole game, but we were shifted to move our bags all out to the chalet at aloha changi! we stayed at chalet B! was big and soo spacious caz 1 chalet for 1 og! hahaa.. laughing out loud! during the night had HTHT with the freshies, asking about all their traffic light color and the shoot, shag and marry game was round 2. ahhaa. the freshies were super shy to say and admit! ahahaa the SAs were probing them and throwing them alot alot of questions! ahhaa. it was enjoyable!

Day 4 came and we did SP mamasan! :) tekkan-crew is us man! ahhaa the guys had an awesome but difficult time with us i guess, but nonetheless, we're still merciful! muahahah they had 5 hours of private time with their own SP and most went out in group dates :) cool! seniors went to TM to dine @ pizzahut and played at Timezone! XDD Qinfeng is master at Bishi Bashi man!!!! Power one! It was awesome and at night, we had HTHT with the juniors, listening to each of them recounting their stories with their SP! ahhaa great fun laughing and joking! Avenge was the last team to go for the fright night, as such, we were so slack inside the Old Commando Camp! haha great experience though...

Day 5 morning, we woke up at 5 plus and got ready for Amazing Race around Singapore!!! :) one freshie wasnt feeling well so I volunteered myself to stay with her and accp her to stay at chalet K! :) even though i missed out a lot on the fun of amazing race, i met new seniors and friends like Shi Qin, Francis and etc.. they drove us to Changi Village for breakfast, den we helped the welfare to load up all the bags and went to Aloha Loyang, near Escape the chalet there.. we went for our lunch and dinner while waiting for the rest of the teams to arrive back! Vodlka came first, den was Enzo.. ahah. me and freshie went to our A grp chalet and we just slept like nobody's business! ahhaa :)) had cheer fight in the night, though we didnt win but i guess we did our best! it was really awesome caz 4 grps are cheering simultaneously and u cannot really hear yourself and the champion of the cheerfight was our sister grp Tyrants! OMG! super happy for them! well done guys!!! :)) so we went for our talk and finally the BBQ!

hi guys! woohoo! i'm really happy caz i went to crash one day MSE camp at the beach! it's sentosa! :D fianlly i went there super impromptu but the weather was super sunny!
it rained for 5 minutes! ahahah..

we joined Tidus!( same group name as my brother!) :DDD great experience! thank you guys, know many new friends and freshies too! ahhaha

really interesting! had all burnt up, looking like a lobster now! haaha!

oh and that day Steph was talking to me about opening an account in UOB! under 20yrs old you only need $100! XD if not it'll be $500! 5 times more. haa. ok i think i may head down to open an account later when i pick Tidus from School! cheers! XD

this week's a bit tough going..drop in cg attendance, cg atmosphere and the members seemed a bit tired and many fell sick :(

not sure what's the reason, there are a few that is MIA..maybe i shouldnt mention names, seriously i understand what it means to have a promise by one person and the person broke it. it's really upsetting. she promise she'll come for service this week but then again, didnt pick up all our calls! :X
kinda saddened by this.. :(

today such a good weather for sleeping. grandfather's 4th death anniversary, stomachahe and eyes swollen! ARGH! wanna do and go so many places and do so many things but no money yet. ahaha body's weak, so i tried to take the Scotts Cod liver oil! no effect! ahahahah :)

great fellowship ytd during dinner! :))) i enjoy fellowshipping with them man! ahaha

going to the next level is always not easy! :) but I thank God for promotion! I thank God for His blessings over my life! :) life is tough man! ahhahaa

anyway had a great and fruitful day today. although i woke up early, i had nothing to do until 130pm, where all the Kan Jiong spiders of Mat Sci Eng starts to log in to Stars Planner and registered for our core courses and electives!!! I didnt get what i Wanted!!! :( i need to take a year 1 course and it clashes with Applied Chemistry, guess i wont be taking this core this year.. so sad. I'm one core course lagging behind!! :(

sighs, went out with mum to AMK to buy some daily stuff, and really obasang! brought soooo many things and i thought i was such a bad helper.. kept nagging and complaining that my hands were aching and swollen!!! ahhahaa bad bad bad.. went out of house after that to a friend's birthday chalet!!!!

So coincidentally, the 3 Joshua i know have the same birthday!!! happy birthday to Joshua Tay, Joshua Kaisheng and Joshua Liangkai! :)

woohoo! learnt many new ways of playing the same notes and new chords! XD excited! fingers are gonna be stretched.

yesterday was fine until after class, went to Marsiling CC to meet the big kids to celebrate Raymond's birthday @ the KTV!! had an awesome time with Des, Jo, Steph, Grace, Mark, Shawn, Raymond, Monkey and the rest of his classmates! aha XD

realised Des and Jo are good singers! man! they can sing well! ahha shud not hide their talents anymore!!! ahhhh! had a fun time there and i enjoyed myself although des keep nagging that the sound system not surround enough, ahahha! still, GREAT!

went home and watched Karate Kid! Real Kungfu happens in everyday lives/ what an interesting statement, isnt discipleship the same? :) WOW!

" pick up ur jacket, hang it up, take it down, put it on.." just this sentence may not understand anything but it's just the surface of things. there are reasons why we do things and thus, find out the deeper meaning and truths! :) and u'll be surprised! ahaa

finally i got the laptop all to myself! everyone is sleeping in view for later's World Cup Finals 2010~ seems like the whole world is for Spain! XD of caz, me included.

well, many things happened today. truly like the chinese saying "tian you bu ce zhi feng yun, ren you dan xi zhi huo fu.." we cannot predict or imagine what will happen next in our lives caz it's super unpredictable! but that's the point like why our lives are so interesting! XD going through challenges and everyday seems like a mystery unfolding!

well, first of all, i just want to let this very special friend of mine know that, i'm really sorry about it, and it breaks my heart to hear that she's upset.. i'm upset. Are we gonna let time fade this thing away? :(

went to a meeting today at someone's house, preparing about camp stuff and can discern that the atmosphere among the seniors are complicated and aint that good.. hahah but thank God, He placed me there to be a light that shines and salt that flavours there..i'm gonna bring transformation to that place! woots. excited!

regretted not turning up for today's study group. seems like 1001 things happened.
dunno where's the start and the end.. lols. I suddenly remembered during one youth meeting, pst told us to be in full time ministry is not gonna be easy as we thought it will be.. now i'm only in cell group ministry and there's sooo many things that happened all at one day's time and i suddenly have a heart attack! lol..seriously, challenges arent meant to break us but to build us! jiayou Crystal Goh! XD for God is with me!

after all these while, i can stand strong and cheer WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO! dealing with youths is super cool and interesting! i guess im growing more mature as the day goes by! XD esciting totally!!!! praise God! not trying to be sacarstic but in everything i thank God. He raised me up so i can stand on mountains!! :)

first i want to thank my daddy and mummy.. haah kidding! i want to thank God for material blessing! i received a free guitar from my friend in NUS! :) awesome! it's really good to have friends! "Ask and you shall receive!"

met him in noon at city hall, shopped for new strings and we walked to St Andrew's Cathedral to play and changed the strings on the 10yr old guitar! it now looks as good as new~ WOW~ PTL!

went to work with the guitar! i pray that God gives me the favor of men, to help me complete the survey!! :)) went to leader's meeting and it was awesome! learnt about Psalms 23 once again! Pst was awesome! heart of a shepherd!

always praying and believing in u, Pastor Kong, Sun and all the pastors in City Harvest. the work that u have done is simply turning the impossible into nothing! :) thank you CHC, there wont be any church like CHC closer to my heart, just like a family! :)

6th june! ZAC's baby shower @ Seasons Park Condo! wow that function room rocks totally! air-conditioned, tables and chairs, pool table, ktv lounge and the space, only going at $30. ohman! hahhaa :) good stuff! Zac's One Month old! :) mum says he's gonna grow up to be a handsome man, all his facial features so pretty! hahaha babies really sleep a lot! from the time i went, to the time i left, he's sleeping all the way except once just woke up for milk! ahaha enjoyed the fellowship with some cgls though we were screaming away inside the ktv lounge and Seth and Joshua taught me pool! cant imagine it was my first time playing pool! :) such a noob! lol, with more practice comes good skills!

7th June
was trying to mass send my resume to many companies who wants to hire temp staff for just 1-2 months..but no replies at all. God answer my prayers! so i took out the guitar and played for hours practicing on all the songs i've learnt so far, oh was hooked to the new song in Reign album- Out of my hands. it's sooo nice! searched for the chords and played. then went for class and lesson was easy but learnt a MONSTER chord, E/G#! ahahaha sounds nice but fingers got to stretch like mad! moreover is a praise song, rhythm and accent for the strumming must be right! jiayou!

oh went to fellowship at Mos burger and we watched Prince of Persia-the sands of time quite last minute, so rushed for the last train back! thank God there is! :) it's a nice movie! :) super action-packed and a bit of thriller at the back! talks abt brotherhood and family, respect and love! :) wooo the princess is so pretty! ahaha :) long black hair like queen esther~ ahha! love her!

i'm super excited because i'm going to meet my friend for a guitar! he's gonna give me one! woooohooo finally got an acoustic one! :) praise God!
will be working later, sighs, no face to see the boss and all. :(

just came back from an interesting place HOMETEAM NS pasir ris chalet!! :) e149's multiplication chalet! woohoo! :D

didnt know the place was so ULU! ahaha, took cab from TM but almost quarrelled with the uncle with such a lousy attitude. SHB 2225A CityCab(yellow) sighs.

settled down at the chalet and almost immediately, we set up the steamboat food and soup! so fun! had steamboat and all the hungry people were so happy! ahaha :D played a lot of cg games and did a mini appreciation to all and although it was mini but i really did feel the love oozing out from each and everyone..didnt really sleep but helped the "gift team" to complete all the booklets until they were so hungry to order Mac delivery! MAc should be a best friend to all the night owls! hahaha :)) did until ard 4am, knocked out and slept. woke up at 8am the next day, played on feli's new guitar and prayed and worshiped for an hour. played and prayed with desmond, another hour. prayed again together as a group, one more hour! THREE hours of devotion! woohoo felt so refreshed! went to the beach to play! Sun was soo hot and we went down to swim in the sea although there is a sign that says "NO SWIMMING"! risk-takers! ahahha, but i cut my toe and went back full of sand! so cool!

next, the rest prepared the bbq food meanwhile i went to bugis! :) lols. not to slack but to do work! ahahah first time marcus, desmond, serene leading praise and worship, hoihaan and felicia on the guitar! :) awesome! had some award presentation and last but not least, a word, a last song, appreciation for Royston and THIS IS IT! part A of the multiplication ended..

totally I will miss the sweetest moments while we were together as one cg, fighting along with royston and running to fulfill his vision of the eighty, the hundreds, the thousands, was really tough and met with sooo many challenges but we did ran the race well! if not for royston, the visionary, we won't be so radical! :) indeed God is good all the times and all the time, God is good! His faithfulness toward the cell group bringing growth and revival to us even though men will fall! God stands steadfast!

ytd was a hectic day! but i really enjoyed myself :)
had zone prayer meeting, and the revelation I really receive was Asia Conference is not just about the excitement, the programs, the competitions, the electives but is really an encounter with God! :) gonna be soooo head over heels with Jesus again! need the fire to be rekindled strong!

These few days i kept thinking about this leader! :) maybe God is speaking to me through this leader. AHHHH! I'm blessed.

I went home ytd and my mum asked me if I read the news about critics talking about Pastor's book of copyright, the news said he copied from others.. sighs. this is really only part and parcel of life i guess. spiritual attack!
wow, being a leader is really not easy, what's more if u are a leader over a large church! many members, many problems! but is a good problem. Thank God! :)

oh man! it's nightmare again! :(

simply living in this kind of condition really is a torture! let GOd Arise!!!

in such a situation, really let God arise! man! this afternoon played the guitar and worshipped for 1 hr! wow! first time play until the thumb and fingers numbed, until now also! ahhaa praise God, presence of God filled the whole room and I wept! man! awesome time! thank God for His presence and power! XD

went to grandma's place to hide, but got kinda harassed by dad on the phone, like a mad woman i screamt at the roadside, cried along the roadside and like arghhh!! couldn't control myself and cried when my ZS called me. :( man! embarassed. is like a sudden outpour of rain out of nowhere, my tears just keep coming and I was like AH! :(

I am really really thankful and grateful to God that I have such good leaders. I want to be like them and inculcate the DNA inside of me to really care and love people with no strings attached. just a 5-10 minute talk and presence of being there, really matters and now I understand! next time if any member or friend need any helpor SOS, if i cannot do anything, all I can do is to really offer my presence. just like God, a very present help in times of need.

Believing that really this is spiritual warfare, just before Asia Conference and CG multiplication, SATAN I will not begged down by this! although this is really torturing, but I will nvr give up! :) I know that my God will bring me through and we will emerge victorious not just this time but every time!

i guess Satan has started attacking us for Asia Conference and e149's multiplication.. people's loved ones passed away, sicknesses coming and all sorts of what not. members and cgcs also. really this is spiritual warfare.

sighs, i was rather disappointed with a friend. all along i thought she was strong person, but i was kinda wrong.. read her blog and realised smth bad, that they lied and didnt account. sighs. God! save this people that i'm talking about. Are we gonna lose them or what? :(

hmm just to evaluate myself!

i felt that i have not done enough, this is not my bestest.
am i wearing a lot of masks? facades they call it. sometimes i felt that i only know how to say but truly actions speaks louder than words. how can i show that i really care and love people? it is through my ACTIONS!!! saying that i love people fervently, but seeing that i do nothing, am i lying? sighs.

i dunno why, my carnal flesh kept asking me not to do it. but i know i should. at least call the people and make sure that they are well and healthy sheep.. sighs. i want to do greater things, not me but by the spirit! jiayou!

also i have anxiety inside of me caz cell group multiplication is really soon and firstly, i dunno if i am ready to take a group, the kind of stress and worry.. secondly, i dunno if i have the confidence to grow the group! dunno why but i still feel like being under a leader.. like the young is not ready to flap its wings and soar, ahha.

but trust God! in anything and everything, i got to put my trust in God the Almighty! XD

haaa. now alone at home, tidus is sleeping and I have no social life. today is friday and how can one be home on a friday night? ahahha :X praise God, today i went to suntec to help MJ to run an errand with felicia! it was really fruitful and i discovered new places in Singapore. We even saw Belinda filming around bugis area! ahhaa was a great time though short one.

pon-tanned today. didnt go to work! due to parents not home and i got to be a stay-home sis! is ok, got some pocket money from mum~ and i really need money and i really need a JOB! job pls come! i will be prosperous in Jesus' name! confess the word and I will have it! :)

tmr is Asia Conference Captain's Ball Semi finals! some of our secondary cg members will be playing!! jiayou jiayou! we'll be there to cheer u guys up and support u guys! jiayou!!!!

不知道你们有没有看第八频道播的“想握你的手”？
看了MOBTV 感触良多。。看到“圣诞树”及家人有着很亲的家庭凝聚力，每天虽然被女儿搞到暴血管，但她和家人那么要好真是令人感到非常羡慕！

我也好希望我的家有那样的生活啊！只要家人每天开开心心，全家健康，有什么烦恼就与家人分享，让大家一起扛。。虽然不是大富大贵，但这样就足够了。。

因为家里最近发生了很多事，相信大家都被累坏了，尤其是妈妈，真是辛苦了。。但也因为这件事让我发觉我有超棒的朋友和教会领袖！有他们的关心和爱，什么都不重要了。感谢上帝，感谢他赐给我平安。。

我今天好开心啊，我买了一本书给弟弟，他很喜欢！：）原来上帝在这艰难的时刻要我成为更董事，他要我学习怎么胜任家里的责任，其中之一就是学习怎么照顾弟弟！：DD

今天我去了裕廊西教会的傍晚祷告会，是由明牧师领导，我感到聖灵的同在，在我心里不禁有一股很温暖的感觉，我知道神与我同在的！我会比以前更坚强的！

BUTTERFLY

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.

So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.

The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.

Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.

What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us.

We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never fly!

Kudos to CHC humanitarian works branch City Care. the straits times reported that they are the first 8 Singaporeans to fly to Haiti to help the victims in times of tremor, fear and pain. Oh gosh, we need more doctors in this place. Doctors!!! Nurses!!
I wished I could play a part in this too but there's just so much I could do..Nonetheless, we could pray for them and the workers who will be going over to Haiti! proud to say that my own ZS is heading team 2 to leave for Haiti tmr.. :)
I am just so proud of all of them! cheers.

anyway i got mixed feelings when i came across razor tv and saw the video on the girl who got molested by 4 guys at Siloso Beach Countdown Party for 2010! sighs, actually i was left dumb-founded, I really dont understand what is the situation there..
firstly, i feel it is not wrong for the lady to dress in bikini as it is a beach party...wearing bikinis to beaches are so common and it seems like a dresscode for ladies..however, when she got surrounded by the 4 indian men, she could already have shouted for help and ran away.. didnt expect her to stay there and allow the guys to do such things..

secondly, are we living in Singapore? Is Singaporeans like this- only videoing and no one went up to help the victim?? I am appalled by this reaction.

sighs, like what the representative from the women's society mentioned, the female ought to protect herself but how can people just be onlookers? Aren't we taught to help our friends or peers or even own countrymen? moreover, I was also shocked to even hear comments like "she deserved it!" just what on the world is this? has the world transformed into a society with cold-blooded human beings and hardened hearts?

I mean, if I was there, I probably would have gotten a gang of guys to help to push those guys away. Even if the girl is tipsy, she also should have limits..no wonder Jesus said," away with this perverse generation.."

it is also interesting to watch videos of typical students too engrossed in the PDA!
it is just plain disgusting! I mean, girls! pls rise up and protect yourself! how could u afford to do this?? schools really got to impose much stricter education on those topics like PDA. to what extent is it acceptable? to what extent is it not? because, it is a public place, non-excludable.. people will pass by definitely and dont you guys feel ashame of yourselves?? Zi Ai pls!

Balance is really the key to life. everything we do, it got to be in moderation.. seriously speaking, i kinda feel embarrassed even just by looking at them..I do not know and do not understand why people are being too open about it.

anyway, these are just my personal comments and I totally am standing on the neutral..not siding with any gender or anything.. just some thoughts..

hmm. got a bit of mixed feelings.

firstly, i wanna thank my cliquey to organise a lil gathering for my belated birthdya celebrations. it was so long since we had a gathering like this. thank you guys! :) although is kinda wierd to have a new friend with us, but it was ok. hope it was a great time to catchup with one another and great time of fellowship!

however, i think i was a bit overwhelm by the fact that all of them are all attached! :) its a good sign that all of us have grown up already! :) ahha yeah i suddenly was soaked in a lovey-dovey kind of feel. lols. well i dont know how to explain..sighs. confession!!!

hmm den also recently i got disappointed by some close friends in church..sighs, a kind of anger and bitterness. :(
so sorry but i really need to confess and i got to seek God for forgiveness.

sometimes, we just got to learn how to say NO. we are not superman or superwoman, definitely there are limits to our abilities. just like a rubberband, once it is stretched to the max, it will BREAK! we cannot do things all by ourselves caz we will definitely burn out and battery will go flat. sighs.
therfore the art of delegation is super important. just got to prioritise our time well and be organised.
cannot understand even as leaders, some of us still are unable to meet deadlines. what is wrong with all of us? isnt our word is our bond? so what makes us leaders over people?

haa. finally is freedom! :DD

the moment i finish shading the last answer, i immediately felt a sense of relief, dun really care if the answers are right or wrong, i just phew. haha. after checking through twice or thrice, i left the hall excited, just glad! :)

hmm. many months since i've written my blog. wow. once again it's october. month of exams and celebrations too.. i guess i probably have forgotten many things and i wanna come back to blogging. blog seems to be less fashionable nowadays, instead, they are used by people or should i say 'businessman' to start online shops. haha. not trying to comment on anything. lol. anyway.. just wanna blog about what is happening in my life and the things in my mind..

this week was awesome. that is because NTU is having a recess week! ;) one week of holidays. hahaa yeah laugh but still much work got to be done! a 30 pages long lab report got to be submitted today and i did! i went with bb fren-mengyew to ntu and we submitted our reports! thanks bb fren for ur company. ahha. if not the 1.5 hrs journey to school will be so boring! lol. ur stories are interesting! LASIK.1200deg.STUDY. wahhaaa..

anyways, physics CA is around the corner, like opps. its on monday! haha. i better start revising. lols.

ahem, tuition kid- Raigo's celebrating children's day and his birthday also coming up. bought him a set of FABER color pencils and one yoyo. he was thrilled when he opened his present. ahhaa. YES! i got it right!;) was still worrying if he isnt that kind who will play yoyos/well. who knows. every kid still needs to satisfy their sould with something fashionable! ;)

went out to meet marketing group for project work. ahaaa. went from town to hougang instead. to his place-edwin. wow. nice house. MILO his dog. and many laptops and net books...we did partially? as it was running late too. so didnt really stay long before i chiong to bugis street to meet meixian, clarence and marcus. my faithful companions. ahhaa. they were like waiting for me for soooo uber long so i decided to treat them to ice-cream. dunno why today i'm feeling kinda generous! X) even gave marcus a berms aahaa ;) uhhh the rest no jealousy lah. next time will be ur turn!
sighs. thinking of something when i was on bus journey home. felt that i need to talk to our people about accountability.

NTU starting wed with math lecture! how cool! ahhaa.. ;) sat graduating from SOT 2009! awesome journey for four and half months! ;) made sooo many new friends from other countries and own town. wow.. saw the hand of God moving in our midst definitely! breakthroughs coming one after the other!!! yea! thank you Lord.

wow, i'm gonna start my new journey a fresh page of my life in NTU on August 10. man, i cant believe that i am grown up liao. got to be mature in thoughts and actions, not a daddy's girl anymore..Uni is not going to be spoon-feeding me all the time got to learn to be independent man! ;)

anyways. so i got to miss SOT for 5 days. sighs. last 5 days of my SOT days. i'm sure gonna miss all my team mates from team 17! past 4 months has really been sweet memories with u guys around me and by my side whenever i'm feeling down. ahaa. thanks to all of u that play a part in this great team! ;) (hahaa so fast i'm writing my farewell speech already!) man, on graduation day i'm surely gonna tear buckets! truly bible school is great and I hereby asking all those who have yet to enrol themselves to go man! it'll change ur life! come to think of it, initially, i was really thinking that SOT is for those who wanna be cgl and for those who have finished all the courses of bible studies.. and $1500 seemed to be such a big amount to me.. especially when i do not have any savings neither was I working.. but God is soooo good! thanks to Desmond, my mentor, in challenging my faith and encouraging me to join this year's cohort! wad an exciting 4 1/2 months in bible school, reporting to JW church before 845am.. sitting in audi for life transforming teachings by various pastors. wow! I'm lovin' it! CAn't imagine life without SOT!

God is always moving us from glory to glory! In biblical days, an armorbearer was one who actually carried the shield and armor of his leader as he went into battle, often acting as his personal assistant. For example, King Saul had several armorbearers assigned to him.1 In our modern-day, I see no one walking around fully suited in the classical armor of the early centuries.

Nevertheless, in the spiritual realm, we continue to need our armor. The Ephesians' writer commands us to put on the full armor of God so that we can take our stand against the devil's schemes.2 Just as much as our early century counterparts, we in the ministry of service are to suit up in the Armor of the Spirit and carry the armor of God's leaders in the battle of faith.
The term armorbearer was originally translated from the Hebrew word, nasa, meaning to figuratively or literally lift up, support or simply help.3 On occasion, Bible translators have translated the word, "help", from the Hebrew word, nasa. In light of these defining terms, we can see an armorbearer is one that helps or supports the arms of an assigned leader during the times of battle.
A modern day armorbearer is one called by God to serve and help his assigned leader in life, ministry, and especially in the fight of faith.4 In essence, an armorbearer is called to attend to, minister to, care for, help, be of use, assist, benefit, promote, support, make easy for, nourish, and encourage their leader.
Furthermore, God calls others to walk in the spirit of armorbearing. They may not be assigned specifically to one leader, but they possess the mindset and attitude of an armorbearer. The attitude of an armorbearer is one of servanthood. The mindset of an armorbearer, as well as those operating in the spirit of one, is to do what it takes to serve and support their leadership.5 Operating in the spirit of armorbearing can also be described as operating in the principles or pervading qualities of an armorbearer. The qualities that top the list are servanthood, commitment, attentiveness, support, help, loyalty, and faithfulness.

Armorbearing in the attitude of service is not just the performing of humble tasks, but is an effort to serve Christ in the Kingdom of God. Jesus said, "The servant of all is the greatest of all." Among my favorite examples, are the great men in Old Testament scripture, many who were faithful armorbearers before their public ministry. King David, King David's mighty men, Elisha and Joshua exemplified the armorbearing spirit in excellence. Even Elisha's assistant, Gehazi, offers us an example of what we do not want to do as an armorbearer.6

One need not think our Father God only called armorbearers or helpers to assist in the ancient battles. Look at New Testament Joseph of Cyprus, nicknamed "Barnabas," or "Son of Encouragement." The most popular view is that Joseph of Cyprus gained these names because he constantly encouraged those to whom he and Paul ministered. Recently, I have considered another thought as to why he was called "Son of Encouragement." Perhaps it was because he persevered by Paul's side through shipwrecks, stoning and much rejection.

Do not overlook Stephen and Phillip among the seven appointed to wait tables for the early church apostles' feeding program. The leaders assigned them to help while their apostles gave greater focus to prayer and the ministry of the Word. Throughout the Bible and today, God is still calling helpers and armorbearers to lift up the arms of our Church leadership.

Operating in the spirit of armorbearing is fulfilling a ministry of help, watchfulness, and intercession on behalf of our leadership. I believe God has issued a fresh call to serve and support our leaders in this way. Only He knows the spiritual effort and sheer hard work it will take to accomplish the vision of His Church.

The Apostle Paul encouraged us to excel in the gifts that build up the Church. As we in the ministry of helps excel in the gift of service and supporting our leaders, we will come into the unity of faith like never before. When we each take our place and share the load our men and women in leadership will suffer less weariness and burnout, giving opportunity for a greater refreshing from the Lord.

wahhaha i miss blogging! finally have a bit of spare time!

updates:

5-7 june: went to Malaysia, sitiwan for missions with team 17 and 14!

5 june: set off at 10am. reached Rhema church, Sitiawan at 1130pm! (: woohoo so didnt do much went sleep. girls in church and guys went to Pastor Dave's former house. Girls slept on floor in sleeping bags and guys--beds!! ahhaa anyway thats not the point. we enjoyed fellowshipping with lady gaga! ahaha

6 june: washed up and changed into service clothes and had individual quiet time. helped out for different events- chinese chess,scrabble,fastest talker and sms shootout competitions held for the youths.. it was really a mini scaled emerge. was reminded of how pastor started city harvest too..practiced the "prodigal son" drama showed to kim hock. after that yvonne, vanessa and seth stayed for BVs and musos prac for service at 5pm..meanwhile the rest went for chendol, ice cream feast!
ahaha. man malaysia's sun is sooooo HOT! afterwhich 5pm was service. we were super excited for praise and worship. yvonne and vanessa were so cool! (: ahhaa although they were kinda lost caz all lyrics in chinese~! A friend from team 14 shared her life testimony..was touching and kim hock shared about life's purposes.. all in mandarin! there were many decisions made,i was a counsellor for a 10 yr old girl! (: after service, we all went for dinner together!! i remember the kopitiam. it's like our LAo PAR SAT! called red and yellow. aahaha. omgosh. we ate and ate..tummy was bulging like nobody's business. ahha afterwhich we went back church and slept.

7 june: woke up in the morning, went for breakfast! got ready for morning service and Rhema church really has the CHC's DNA! ahha Pastor's dressing, church service order the same, bulletins, etc.. Jasmine shared her life story with the rest. she's so nervous caz it's also her first time speaking all in mandarin.. man it was kinda wierd but nonetheless, her testimony really made us shed tears!! after that Pastor Dave preached a sermon about David's 5 stones!it was a good sermon!! after service, we naturally took sooo many photos with the people there.. with pastor, with all the youths, with everyone we know! ahhaha really had an enjoyable time there although it was short!!!

we went to the coffeehouse downstairs for lunch and all was on Pastor Dave! ahhaa we ordered bak kut teh for 6 persons and was nice and cheap! ordered a drink called "thumbs up" ahha! (: super tasty! anyway after lunch, we boarded the coach and travelled to Singapore. was around 2pm. however, we reached JW church at 140am! oh man WHAT A RIDE! ahhaa...

my reflections: although the actual time for us to mingle with the people was very short, we managed to really fellowship with them and even exchanged all our contacts and email addresses. I felt that we built great relationship with them and Rhema church really inspires me about church planting and that is not easy to start everything from scratch. I can imagine how City harvest was like 20 years ago! man we should never despise small beginnings! truly the youths are really passionate and on fire!! (: after this trip, i felt that we shouldnt take our church and our leadership for granted. Thank God that You placed me and planted me into City Harvest Church, what an amazing journey and BIG family! (: anyway i felt that we could have more chances to preach, lay hands, teach bs etc.. yup i would love to see great miracles happening during missions! that'll be great! (:

Pastor Steve Munsey is truly a blessing to us this weekend~ truly the #1 evangelist and church growth expert in the pentacostal world!! woowowww.. super stunt when he was telling a story about Jesus' love for us even if we dun deserve any..today's message was about scandalon where people's offenses are like a bait for us to fall into this trap and get stuck because we cannot move thus we must forgive all and not fall into this trap!! Really hope pastor steve will come back again and again to our church and i believe he is gonna bring our church to another level man!!! wooohooo!!

okay here is an update about the swine influenza:
Global Update

2. As at 28 April 09, there are reportedly 26 confirmed cases of human swine influenza A (H1N1 viruses) in Mexico, 50 in the United States (New York City, California, Texas, Kansas and Ohio), 6 in Canada (Nova Scotia and British Columbia), 1 in Spain and 2 in Scotland, 11 in New Zealand and 1 in Israel. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared that the outbreak of the new strain of human swine influenza in Mexico and the US constitute a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), and has recommended that countries intensify its surveillance and precautionary measures. The United States has also declared a public health emergency to deal with the emerging human swine influenza. These reports raise concerns about a global human-to-human spread of a novel influenza virus.

Situation in Singapore

3. As of 28 April 09, there are no human cases of swine flu in Singapore. There are 17 cases in total referred for further medical assessment. 16 have been referred to the Communicable Disease Centre (CDC) and one case was seen at SGH. Three cases referred to the CDC (including the two referred yesterday) have all tested negative for Influenza A. The case seen in SGH has tested negative as well. Most of the other new cases are Singaporeans who have recently returned from the United States.

4. Cases seen at the CDC and in the other hospitals would undergo a preliminary test for Influenza A, the virus type associated with swine flu and the circulating strains. The preliminary test result will be available within a day but confirmation of the swine influenza strain will take up to 7 days.

Precautionary Measures implemented

5. All healthcare institutions in Singapore have intensified their infectious disease control measures under the heightened Yellow Alert level. Some of these precautionary measures have been proactively implemented while still in green status. Additional measures include donning full personal protective equipment especially in high risk areas such as the emergency department and intensive care unit, rescheduling elective admissions, cutting down visitors to patients, and recording of contact particulars of visitors. These will help reduce unnecessary exposure, provide for surge capacity and facilitate contact tracing when the need arises. Hospitals will also restrict inter-hospital movement of patients and staff, except in emergencies. Polyclinics and specialist outpatient clinics are also setting up triage centres to manage symptomatic patients with a travel history to affected areas, or contact with such persons.

6. Since our SARS experience in 2003, MOH has ramped up isolation capacity in public hospitals. MOH has also stocked up about 1.15 million courses of Tamiflu and 50,000 courses of Relenza. We have stockpiled enough antiviral drugs like Tamiflu and Relenza to treat Singaporeans should the need arise. Members of the public should thus avoid stock piling of these antiviral drugs. These antiviral drugs designed for treating influenza such as swine flu, should be used judiciously. Indiscriminate use may ultimately limit their effectiveness as drug-resistant viruses may develop.

7. As part of national level measures, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) had implemented precautionary measures at Singapore Changi Airport on 26 April. Thermal scanners have been deployed at the Arrival Halls of T1, 2 and 3. From 29 April, the thermal scanners will also be deployed at the Budget Terminal and at the Seletar Airport. From 29 April at 0800 hours, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) will also deploy thermal scanners at the arrival halls of Singapore’s International Passenger Terminal and Regional Ferry Terminal at Habourfront Centre and Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to screen all arriving passengers. Thermometers will also be used at West Coast Pier, Marina South Pier, Changi Ferry Terminal and Changi Point Ferry Terminal to screen all arriving passengers. In addition, health alert notices containing information about swine flu will be handed out to arriving passengers.

Advice from MOH

8. Members of the public are advised to postpone or avoid non-essential travel to Mexico. In the event that travel to Mexico is unavoidable, the public is advised to take precautionary measures such as avoiding crowded areas and maintaining high standards of personal hygiene at all times. Upon returning from the affected area (ie Mexico and the state of New York, California, Texas and Kansas of the United States), members of the public should continue to maintain high standards of personal hygiene and to monitor their own health.

9. Members of the public who have travelled to affected places and who develop respiratory illness with fever (Temperature > 38°C) within seven days after their return should put on a surgical mask and seek medical consultation immediately. They should also disclose their travel histories to their doctors.

10. MOH advises the public to maintain high standards of personal hygiene, such as washing hands frequently with soap and water, especially after contact with respiratory secretions (e.g. after sneezing and coughing). Those who are unwell with respiratory illness should stay at home and wear a surgical mask if possible.

11. MOH is monitoring the situation closely and will update the public should there be any new developments. For more information on Swine Flu, please access MOH’s website at www.moh.gov.sg or call our hotline at 1800-333 9999.

What are the symptoms of swine flu in humans?
The symptoms of swine flu in people are expected to be similar to the symptoms of regular human seasonal influenza and include fever, lethargy, lack of appetite and coughing. Some people with swine flu also have reported runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

Can people catch swine flu from eating pork?
No. Swine influenza viruses are not transmitted by food. You can not get swine influenza from eating pork or pork products. Eating properly handled and cooked pork and pork products is safe. Cooking pork to an internal temperature of 160°F kills the swine flu virus as it does other bacteria and viruses.

does swine flu spread?
Influenza viruses can be directly transmitted from pigs to people and from people to pigs. Human infection with flu viruses from pigs are most likely to occur when people are in close proximity to infected pigs, such as in pig barns and livestock exhibits housing pigs at fairs. Human-to-human transmission of swine flu can also occur. This is thought to occur in the same way as seasonal flu occurs in people, which is mainly person-to-person transmission through coughing or sneezing of people infected with the influenza virus. People may become infected by touching something with flu viruses on it and then touching their mouth or nose.

thank God for public holidays like Labour Day! ;) ahaha i'm like lost touch with the world ever since SOT started. like no TV programmes and news..

SOT has really been a blessing to me. Pastors are really humourous and they make the bible studies lesson super fun and interactive. especially we just finished our Home Cell Group Leadership course.. woo exciting mock cg coming up in 2 weeks time.. I'll be leading welcome, praise, worship and warmth. Thank God there is no word and ministry although i felt that it would be very helpful to me. but i guess i'm not prepared yet. Also, we did a prophecy exercise with someone whom we don't know..It's super fun!! LOVE it to the max! haha. I laid hands on the sister and she fell. ahha. (: Glory to God!

Moving on, after SOT everyday is work work work.. Thank God for the projects at Acorn. Also for the favour upon men. that my boss really entrust me his own personal keys and additional pay rise estimated abt 200 more. praise God for it. anyway although work is tiring and draining, but i simply love working there.. There's so many new friends and the staff are equally good to us! (: surrounded by friendly ppl! what a Blessing! (:

wow. was super blessed by Evangelism Explosion!! the video by Pst Bill especially!! omgosh!! it really captured my heart and soul and about Aaron standing between the living and the dead to make a difference!! below are two devotions written by PAstor Kong.. and i think it really is a word in season for E149!!

WELCOMING THE LOST!
It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is
alive again, and was lost and is found. Luke 15:32

Jesus was often accused by the Pharisees for being too welcoming with sinners like parable of the lost sheep, (2) the parable of the lost coin, and (3) the parable of the lost son. Jesus doesn’t believe in a “token hunt” for the lost. He doesn’t believe in just walking through the harvest field proclaiming that harvest time has come. Jesus believes in the actual ingathering of the lost.

As the Good Shepherd, Jesus counts the sheep in His flock every day. In church, we count people because people count! Every number represents a life that Christ died for on the cross. Without counting, how would a shepherd know if any of his sheep is missing? A good shepherd would “go after the one which is lost until he finds it”(Luke 15:4). A conscientious woman who has lost a silver coin would “light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it” (Luke 15:8). Soul-winning is too important a task to be left to half-hearted, token efforts.

In the parable of the prodigal son, after feeding swine in the pigsty, the son fi nally came to his senses. He would go home to his father and confess his sins to him. He would then make amends by working as a hired servant. There was true repentance and a desire to make restitution. When the lost son was still a distance from his home, his father saw him. For many months now, dad has been standing by the gate every day, waiting for his son to come home. And when the father met him, he hugged the son, gave him the best robe, put a ring on his fi nger and new sandals on his feet, killed the best calf, and threw him the best party in town. Unfortunately, the elder son didn’t share in the celebration. He was unhappy about the fuss made over the return of his lost brother.

Have you ever wondered what might have happened if the elder brother greeted the prodigal son first at the gate? His holier-than-thou attitude would have forever driven him back to the pigsty! It would have confirmed the negative bias that sinners like him could never start life afresh. Thank God it was the merciful father and not the harsh elder brother who greeted him at the door.

The three parables of Luke 15 tell us this: (1) soul-winning is serious work, (2) soulwinning is dedicated work, and (3) soul-winning is compassionate work. Watch your attitude the next time you meet people who are really “messed up” in life. Your attitude can give them the faith they need to start life afresh, or drive them further away from God. People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE
And he stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped. Numbers 16:48

In Numbers 16, 250 Israelite leaders joined Korah, Dathan and Abiram in a rebellion against Moses. They were jealous of Moses’ authority and leadership. They wanted equal rights for all the leaders. Personally, Korah wanted a position and ministry that God had not given him.

There is always a tendency to downgrade the pastor in a church. But while the pastor is an elder, not all elders are pastors. You can’t put Moses on the same level as Korah, and you can’t put Korah on the same level as Moses.

This rebellion was a serious attack, not only against Moses, but against God Himself. The earth then opened up and fire came from heaven to consume the 250 leaders. The next day, the sympathizers of the rebels started murmuring against Moses. They felt that Moses and God were too harsh to Korah and the 250 men. By criticizing them, they were in effect saying that they had more compassion than God.

The Lord immediately spoke to Moses, “Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.” A plague swept through the people and 14,700 men began falling down dead. Aaron quickly took a censer, and with some fire from the altar, ran into the midst of the people and started making atonement for their wrongdoing. He stood between the living and the dead, and the plague stopped (Num. 16:48-49).

Who was Aaron? He was just one man in the midst of a terrible plague that was killing the multitude. He was an elderly man who was too old to exert himself. He was a man who bore the scars of failure in both ministry and life. Yet, he ran to the altar, caught some fi re and stood between the living and the dead. And where he stood, the plague stopped.

This simple story was the rhema that launched our “Church Without Walls” ministry to the poor and needy in 1995. The essence of Christianity is simply loving God and loving people (Matt. 22:36-40). If you are willing to go to God’s altar, catch the fire of compassion, and stand between the living and the dead in your community, you can stop the ravages of sin and death.

Can one man make a difference? Aaron was a man of limited abilities. He was a man marked with many public failures. But when he caught the fire of compassion, he stood between the living and the dead and made the difference. With God’s compassion in your heart, you too can make a difference in your world.

I wanna thank God for financial and material blessings this week!

my parents have been winning in their games and i've been blessed a total of $200 these 2 weeks. On top of that my mum bought me a pair of sandals from DMK and 2 tops from Bega! (: thank God for these blessings!!

however, i'm still praying that my mum will sign my consent form for SOT and i'll find a job soon in order to pay for SOT school fees! God please open doors for me!!

hi there, happy valentine's to all of my friends! I <3 you!

ytd, our cg met up early for lunch and went over to JW church to fellowship! we took super lots of photos with Desmond then attended service. Pastor talked about relationships- top 5 needs of both man and woman! ^^ really learned alot! aww. pastor is now in tweeter and facebook!! woots so cool! haha. anyway after service, we took cabs down to Changi Airport and sent Desmond off. It was super rushing caz Desmond's flight is at 815pm and he has to check in around 730...yup, n363 gave him alot of presents but caz his luggage was super full, he cant bring all there. yeah but it's ok, he'll fly back in April! anyway we cried when he went in to the gates and awww.. nose got sour and tears just welled up in my eyes, was like a contagious sickness, soon most were also crying. moreover, thinking of the new places tt we'll be going to, i just broke down! ): was so sad. For me is a totally new cg, new faces and new CGL..whom i have never met before until friday. yeah just pray and believing that God will surely have a greater purpose installed for all of us..

thanks for these 2 years being together as a cg, seeing everyone beginning to contribute more and more to the cg and when guo en, joshua, jonathan and jackson just transferred to our cg, we were strangers but after much fellowship, we really got so close. seriously, the message of having the church DNA seems very close to heart now. Being in city harvest for 4 years plus, i believe i have incurred some of that genes in me? i hope. lol. i believe all of us aim to be Christ-like, righteous and holy at the same time able to impact the marketplace! what is S_CCESS? even God cant spell success without u! (: interesting. how can i be the change? how can i be the "holy spirit" of my friends, being a friend and a helper? happy birthday mum and chern ron! (: it seems like everyday there's people celebrating birthdays!

hmm. ytd i went for the class chalet.. super pathetic like only 10 ppl turn up but i stayed nonetheless and we played card games till 5 plus 6 and slept for 2 hours and checked out at 10am. Tidus tagged along with me and stayed as well. so wrong but since so lil people so i brought him along. not too bad la chicken wings was nice and fishballs too! haha. anyway thanks to marcus for organising everything and paying so much! u sacrificed too much la. haha. thanks alot!

wow this week was our candlelight service! woke up late and was slightly late for service today but i totally enjoyed it cause i'm sitting with yvonne and her friends at delta row 2. firstly our mediacorp artiste Belinda was giving out candles to me and she has such a serving attitude! kudos. afterwhich pastor kenneth came and pass me the fire on the candle. woohoo. annointed one! (: ZAI LA. then preaching was abt Light and ended with the merry christmas song and i shook hands with Belinda! ahha. lol. went home changed and met up with a few ppl and went to guo en's house for Cell cum appreciation cum bbq! his mum is superb host! i love guo en's mum! ahah. her culinary skills rocks too! (: we appreciated each other and proceeded with bbq after the word and there's so much fun! first there's champagne (sparkling juice) then there's a log cake by guo en's mum! so nice!! finally the cleaning up and clearing part! nice to see the brothers so united in washing the floor! ahha. (: thank you guo en for ur nice place and nice drum set for me to toggle with! ahaha. (: rocks man!

today marks my end of the 2 week holiday vocation! i'm super glad and felt peaceful. Although its short period, i met and knew many other part-timers who were with me throughout together! from the first day i worked, i remembered i wore the wrong colour of pants then to preparation day where i met Jaime! (Barcelona) and to the official 5 days sales from 10-14 Dec and till now! it's super tiring to be standing the whole day around 12 hours and keep on repeating the same steps like folding and hanging! it just shuts people off. anyway i'm glad i ended because i realised i was off-track for these 2 weeks where my mind is occupied by job and money only and the other things aside. It's my mistake to accept it cause i have to attend 2 weeks of make up service and i'm sort of losing focus on ministry and stuff. Now that i've completed the scheduled work slot, i better get back on track and travel as fast as i can to catch up with the rest.

zou san, lei ho ma, li gor gei duo qin?...these are phrases in cantonese i learnt from mum 1 day before i fly off to Hong Kong. time flies, i'm back from the 5 days of exchange already.

first day,27 nov- i was super excited to once again go on board SQ 862! dad, mum and tidus sent me off at Changi Airport.

arrive 3 hours later at HOng Kong, did all the misc and the first place we went to was to board the one way tram and then to the wax museum and a ghost house. super scary! aha

eh afterwhich we went to a shopping mall and do u know that in HK, the sky is dark
around 6 plus. haha.its as if 8pm ..and the first day was super cold with the wind blowing!! never experienced such a cold weather!!!

afterwhich we went to Avenue of Stars and watched a lazer show. Finally checked into our hotel! (Regal Oriental Hotel). our room no. is 403! staying together with joanna and alvina! (:

went to somewhere near the hotel for dinner. Honkies have their dinner only ard 9-10 plus. we were super hungry lah.

day 2-went to have Dim Sum breakfast,proceeded to History Museum.

went for lunch and arrived at an university- HKIEd. we played rather badly.maybe its nervous or not enthu. lol. took the bus to Mongkok where the famous Ladies Street is. shopped for a few hours but i didnt buy much although things were rather cheap.

Day3- ate breakfast at another restaurant and rushed to a prestigous college- TWGH WOng Fut Nam College. their band was superb and awesome. they have junior and senior band!! (: rawks man. got to know and mingled with the percussionists there and a special impression is a guy called Nathaniel. pro percussionist..though he's only 12 yrs old, he's in the senior band! check this out!

then, there's another college which is next to it called Munsang College. it's either a christian or a catholic school.the students are like our secondary 1-4.. thus, they are younger than us and their standard can say is rather ok. the percussionists are fun loving ppl! (:

went to space museum. was rather boring caz not very interesting but we tried moonwalking. it was tough! then we went to Kimberly street to shop! woots i LOVE SHOPPING! bought jacket,top and Dior stuff for Xiaoling.

Day 4- we performed at HK Disneyland!! yayness. was awesome performance and we each received a cert and some souvenirs from them. then we spent whole day playing there and shopped as well. this is my second time to Disneyland but first time to HK's!

Disneyland's spectacular fireworks starts at 8pm and it was super nice! (:

Day 5- we went to URA Gallery and we were super tired thus didnt pay much attention to the person talking. lol. *guilty* but anyway we shopped for the last time at some shopping mall where all the outlets are and things are rather cheap. I bought a pair of Adidas soccer shoes for Tidus and thank God it fits! (: finally checked in at the HK airport and boom! here i am, arriving at Singapore at nearly 11pm. reached home ard midnight!

this trip is superb! although the itenary keeps changing! lol. many things happened both bad and good and we learn from mistakes and we improve from the good things! (: through it all, i made new friends especially with the juniors- beiyu, qiuyin, yujia,honour band and kailing! (: they were with me throughout the 5 days! you guys rawks! and thanks to Joanna, Alvin, Alvina and Rachel for their lil ms Sunshine soft toy!! i know that YJC band is gonna improve by leaps and bounds after this trip! jiayou for SYF 2009!

AS RETAILERS pull Chinese dairy products from their shelves amid a widening contamination scandal, local shoppers are scrupulously checking labels and steering clear of China-made food and drinks.
Twenty-five of 30 shoppers polled at stores across the island said they were avoiding anything edible from China, including canned food and even toothpaste.

The wariness comes after the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) announced that a Yili yogurt ice bar, White Rabbit milk candy and Dutch Lady strawberry milk were tainted with melamine. They are among a growing list of China-made products found to contain the toxic chemical, which is normally found in plastics.

The discovery has shocked consumers here into vigilance. Nearly all who spoke to The Straits Times said they were paying more attention to food labels when they shop.

'I didn't use to be really aware of the origin of products, as long as the price was good and it wasn't past the expiry date. Now, I check the labels on all the food I buy,' said Mr Soumya Banerjee, 29, an information technology analyst.

Retailers have been purging food and drinks from China since the AVA last Friday stopped the sale and import of all milk and dairy products from China.

On Sunday, it called on stores to recall confectioneries and anything else that might include Chinese dairy products as an ingredient.

Most stores have been conducting triage on their stocks since last Friday, first pulling China-made milk and dairy products, then confectioneries off the shelves, and finally tracking down suppliers to determine if food made elsewhere included Chinese dairy products.

It is believed that the process of nailing down the origin of ingredients could take days.

Supermarket chains FairPrice, Cold Storage, Giant and Shop N Save, along with convenience stores Cheers and 7-Eleven, have each yanked dozens of products from their shelves.

The list includes M&Ms, Snickers peanut bars, Dove chocolate bars, Oreo wafer sticks, Magnum mini classics ice cream, Monmilk milk and Walls Mini Poppers ice cream.
The recalls come as consumers worry about the reach of the contaminated milk. 'It's very disturbing. Even though we buy products that are made in Singapore or Australia, how do we know that the ingredients that go in them are really not from China?' asked Ms Tricia Li, 27, a marketing executive.

Meanwhile, the recall has the potential to hit retailers hard, experts said.

Some retailers are offering customers refunds even as they negotiate with suppliers for their own rebates when they return recalled products.

Retail expert Lau Chuen Wei said smaller retailers could find the going tough. 'They traditionally do not have that much choice in products, so they may feel (the pinch) a bit more,' she said.

A manager at Sheng Siong's Tanglin Halt outlet estimated that the store had lost $1,000 in sales in the past week. They started recalling products early last week when news first broke about the scandal in China.

Supermarkets could end up losing big if suppliers refused to give refunds, said Ms Lau

dunno why i've been troubled by my future..well i guess probably i've inherited more of the male genes. i look back and realised that the things that i like are all masculine stuffs.. like drumming, thinking of the army and i never like to wear skirts. haha/ perhaps influence of the military band that i love the way those officers wear the smart uniforms during NDPs and marching so suavely. haha. i just love that and i even imagine myself being the parade commander. haha, wad a joke..lol. i love to play drums but dun really have the skills and the tit of talent.yeah wad i am now is only just a beginner. well. so i really hope to have drumming lessons!(: shiok ah and now i wish for a drum pad at Yamaha which cost abt bucks. been thinking seriously on my future pathway. a few possibilities is to get into a Uni and study banking and finance, to become a teacher or to join the army and get trained up in the OCS.haha.a lot of peeps say the training is cmi one yeah i'm fearing that i'll be unable to take it and cry inside.haha. only the tough gets through. boos.

(: heard from yvonne that pastor is also encouraging church leaders to get attatched and if possible to start a family. well in this way, if one couple gives birth to average of 2, the kids will join children's church and our church population will be doubled or even tripled.
